Yes, this is a homely plant, it even has ugly flowers! However, the scent is heavenly, and it's very easy to grow. Can you guess what it is? I teased the members of the Facebook page Perfume From Your Garden the other day, and got lots of responses, many close, but only one guessed it. If you're not already a member, go to the page and join us.You'll get to see lots of photos of much prettier plants! Plus, I post updates there practically every day.
In the meantime, if you have a perfumery question, I'm here today, all day, until 10 PM USA ET. I've missed several Sundays due to the demands of writing the book, and I'm popping here to let y'all ask away today - sorry for the gaps in the forum, I'm busier than a bee in a field of fragrant flowers!

Hi Anya, How are you? I know not the plant in the picture… although it actualy looks really really familiar… but I can’t bring it to mind now.
I remember you posting about a UV light to spead up the aging process of modifications/perfumes that you make.
would you speak more of this please? I am intrigued, since I would love to save on the weeks, and months that one needs to wait in order to see what truly becomes of an experimental accord, and am considering buying one of these, if you were to say that it would work well for this purpose.

Hi Hemla:
The UV method is a bit complex, so I’m writing up a detailed paper on it. You can use an ultrasonic machine or mixer with a teflon stirrer in the meantime.
